My name is Ava St. Laurent, and I am very enthusiastic to be working with you via this blog. Through studying at Drexel University’s Master’s Program for Public Communication, I’ve learned many tips and tricks of the trade while continuing to have a penchant for writing. I have written and created content all my life in academia, creative work, and past job experience. I continue to write in all aspects of my life and hope to be a published writer one day.
Writing is the single most important skill any person in the communication or literary fields could have. Learning to understand and communicate for your career, about your professional and personal lives, and about yourself and others is crucial. To further highlight and explore this extremely important truth, I invite you to take advantage of this platform and leave feedback. As an aspiring writer and youth, I intend to take what knowledge I possess – and hope to learn – and share it with you!
This blog will examine different types of writing. This includes, but is not limited to, different writing styles, genres, how-to outlines/tutorials, the publishing experience, and growth as a writer. This is all to help readers grow as writers in their personal and professional lives – no matter how diverse they may be. Additionally, this blog will be an overview of how to market yourself in the professional world.
For each content-based post, I plan to have multiple sources, at least two, to help boost credibility of this blog; this rule is also standard for most published work from journalists. For each interview, I plan to give credit for any credits or promos for the interviewees’ works/pages below. For all posts, I plan to include visuals/graphics – as many taken by me as I can. If I use others that need to be credited, which may be the case for some interviewees with published works, then – fear not, Reader – I will do that as well.
When I am not writing, you can find me obsessing over my dogs – or the nearest dog in sight, catching the latest Marvel movie in theaters, or searching for the best macaroni-and-cheese recipes on the Internet. You may also catch me exploring – alternating between – New York City and Philadelphia, but don’t be shy! I’m always happy to have a conversation.
I hope you get much use out of this blog. If you have any questions or concerns or just want to chat with me, feel free to reach me at the provided email address.
Happy reading!
